We feel it is important to know that we take you and your pain seriously.
When you come into our office you will be asked to fill out a brief health history, which you and your therapist will discuss. This will help us get a better picture of your overall health and the issues you are having.
We want you to feel free to discuss your questions and concerns openly without fear of asking a ‘silly’ or ‘stupid’ question—there is no such thing in our business.
Your therapist will discuss the treatment they think will suit YOU best. They will then step out of the treatment room and allow you sufficient time to get undressed to your comfort level and to get on the massage table. You will be modestly draped throughout your treatment. Please talk or don’t talk at your discretion. This is your massage and your comfort is important to us. When the treatment is over, the therapist will end the session and step out for you to get dressed.
Many of our therapists like to end the session by coming back into the treatment room when you are ready and suggesting stretches, strengthening exercises, and other modifications to your activities.
All therapists with The Austin Bodyworker are currently certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). We are also all Professional members of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), a professional organization serving more than 37,000 members who demonstrate a certain level of skill and expertise through testing and education.
